The Witham is a community arts centre based at the heart of Barnard Castle in Teesdale. With an art gallery, box office shop and café bar open five days a week, The Witham is a great place to socialise, whilst enjoying good food and drink and an the exciting array of gigs and events, there is something for everyone to enjoy.

Our programme includes live music, dance, film, live theatre, screenings, comedy gigs, lectures and markets. There are also regular weekly sessions for a variety of groups including Meditation, Pilates, the youth theatre group, Turrets and Wiggles and Wobbles (a music and movement group for 0 – 4 years).
The Witham is located in the middle of the main street, Horse Market, in Barnard Castle. Access is from Horse Market and also at the rear of the buildings from Morrison’s car park.
We are open from 10:00 am to 16:00 pm from Tuesday to Saturdays, occasional Sundays and an hour before evening events. Our Cafe is open from 9:30 am until 16:00 pm.
