When

There is a mysterious young woman living up at Wildfell Hall, whilst down in the village the tongues are wagging. Is she who she says she is and why is she hiding away with her young son?

Anne Brontë’s novel has been adapted for the stage by Deborah McAndrew and it shines a light on the predicament of married women in Victorian England, who were unable to own property, have sole custody of their children or keep their earnings.

One young man is determined to find out who she is because he has fallen in love with her: the truth, when he uncovers it, is shocking indeed.

This is a story of courage, integrity and love.

This non-professional production of “The Tenant of Wildfell Hall” is presented by arrangement with United Agents.
