Trustees of the Witham Hall Ltd are delighted to announce the appointment of businesswoman Amy Hughes as the new Centre Director. This is a new role and will focus on further developing the Witham’s culture and community offer based on the strong foundation that has been created by a dedicated team of staff, volunteers and trustees.
Originally from Newcastle, Amy is now resident in Barnard Castle, and already knows the Witham as a customer. Amy brings with her strong leadership and management capability from her experience as a director of a construction company and from working at a senior-level in a company delivering global technology solutions.
Amy’s appointment will help reduce strain on existing staff members and will release Trustees from unpaid day-to-day work. The separation of governance from staff work is needed to help with longer-term funding applications, particularly to Arts Council England (ACE).
Amy will lead deep dive reviews of our processes, systems, and capability so that we optimise our resources whilst continuing to deliver something for everyone.
