Playing with Light

Our human story takes each of us through times of shadow and light, and this reality, coupled with the sense of certainty that the Creators light can pour down onto our path, motivates Michael’s art. He is an artist of Christian faith, leading the viewer from loss to discovery through everyday scenes of our surroundings, in Landscape with figures to portraiture in Oil and pastel.  He first exhibited at the Westminster Gallery aged 20 and has received favourable critique, producing work for home and abroad.  In this Witham exhibition he shares his countryside scenes.

David Forster (who paints under the name  FOZET – after Monet!): David moved to County Durham in 2015 having turned professional artist upon retirement when a debilitating spinal condition forced him to give up a more active life.  With fewer distractions nowadays he is able to paint most days often working on more than one canvas at a time whilst allowing different layers of oil paint to dry. Subjects include landscapes, doors, people and animals. David has also taught himself how to play the clarinet and feels one discipline complements and inspires the other.

Brian Lavery, Wildlife Artist: Combining his knowledge of birds with his artistry , Brian’s paintings are often mistaken for photographs. At 12 years old, he could name every bird  UK bird.
