Teesdale Railway History Group – Local Railway History Exhibition

22 Aug 2025 - 6 Sep 2025

The Teesdale Railway History Group is holding an exhibition of our local railway history 22 August to 6 September.

For 100 years Barnard Castle station was the busy central hub of four railways: to Bishop Auckland, Darlington and all points east; to Kirkby Stephen and all points west; plus a local line to Middleton-in-Teesdale. All were part of the Stockton & Darlington Railway – the world’s first steam passenger railway which celebrates its 200th birthday on September 27th – a world event!
