U3A monthly meeting with speaker. This month’s guest speaker is Andrew Graham Stables.
Andrew will be delivering extracts from his book ‘Secret Barnard Castle & Teesdale’ and the latest book ‘A-Z of Barnard Castle & Teesdale: Places-People-History’.
Andrew will pay particular attention to some of the characters, buildings and events associated with the Witham Hall, including some of the interesting aspects of the towns largest memorial. Andrew will also recite a poem about the Teesdale Volunteers who existed during the Napoleonic Wars and was possibly last performed in 1804 in a building in Market Place no longer in existence.
He will also be selling a selection of his books and giving away a small number of copies of some photographs from the publications.
Entry is free but places must be booked.
This will be a socially distanced meeting in the Music Hall. Tea/Coffee is optional for £1.00.
