Turrets Youth Theatre Term Fee – SPRING 2023
Ticket price
Early Bird £60 if paid on or before 11 January
When
First established in 1997, Turrets is now the in-house youth theatre company of The Witham community arts centre, providing access to drama-based workshops and activities for young people in Barnard Castle and the surrounding area.
Working with children from the age of 8+, Turrets is committed to delivering unique performance opportunities, providing formative creative experiences over 20 years for hundreds of young people across the region. With many alumni now pursuing careers in theatre and the wider arts, we pride ourselves on being a launch pad for creativity; providing a safe and supportive environment in which to build confidence, experience and attitude!
Through devised and scripted work, both groups work to develop imaginative and original performances, equipping members with invaluable experiences both on and off stage, and helping to bridge the gaps between primary and secondary school, when support and familiarity are invaluable.
Juniors (4 pm – 5:30 pm)
Open to ages 8 – 11 years, The Juniors act as an introduction to all things theatre, and provides a nurturing and safe environment in which to explore the world. Our weekly workshops are full of fun and games, building confidence and trust amongst the group – core skills in life as well as on the stage.
Seniors (5:45 pm – 7:15 pm)
Open to ages 12 – 18 years, The Seniors develop key acting skills based around improvisation, drama games and script work. The group explore different methods and techniques with guest facilitators and masterclasses, as well as through focussed rehearsals and productions.
