The ‘Beat Boom’ starts here and during the next two years ‘Merseymania’ rules the world as Liverpool establishes its formidable status as top of the pops!

Come and relive the golden age of the Mersey Sound, as we take you from The Cavern Club to the Hit Parade, with plenty of rock ‘n’ roll and the big Mersey hits from ‘Some Other Guy’ to ‘Twist & Shout’, ‘Love Me Do’ to ‘Ferry ‘Cross the Mersey’ with The Beatles, The Searchers, Gerry and the Pacemakers, Cilla Black, The Merseybeats, The Big Three, Kingsize Taylor, Chuck Berry, Little Richard and many more.

This vibrant show, which celebrates 60 years of Merseybeat, features the Cavern Club’s resident Merseybeat combo, The Shakers and their authentic ‘Maximum Merseybeat’ sound.  Including special guests, Victoria Jones as Cilla Black and Neil Ainsby as Gerry Marsden who keep the pace swingin’ while ‘host with the most’, Liverpool actor Paul Codman, keeps the story moving to the toppermost of the poppermost!

Uniquely, every song in the show was performed by a 60s Liverpool artist and showcases the city’s world-beating musical heritage like no other touring production today. It’s the beat that’s hard to beat!
