Teesdale Special Flora Trust: The Botanical Treasures of Upper Teesdale
Upper Teesdale is regarded as one of the top five botanical sites in the British Isles. Here northern species at the southern limit of their range grow alongside southern species at their northern limit. This remarkable arrangement has led to a unique collection of plants known as the Teesdale Assemblage, many of which are rare and vulnerable, for which Upper Teesdale is famous. These plants are largely confined to the upper fells. There is also a large and varied group of more common plants in numerous sites throughout Teesdale.
Geoff Herbert LRPS, in this talk, fully illustrated with high quality photographs, will look at these plants from the fell tops down to Low Force, concentrating mainly on accessible sites.
This event takes place upstairs in The Witham Room.
