Teesdale Railway History Group: Exhibition of Local Railway History
The Teesdale Railway History Group is holding an exhibition of our local railway history from Friday 22 August to Saturday 6 September.
For 100 years Barnard Castle Station was the busy central hub of four railways: to Bishop Auckland, Darlington and all points east; to Kirkby Stephen and all points west; plus a local line to Middleton-in-Teesdale. All were part of the Stockton & Darlington Railway, the world’s first passenger steam railway, celebrating its 200th anniversary on 27 September – a world event!
Free entry. Open 10am to 4pm Tuesday to Saturday.
