The Aquarius Quartet (Louise Latham and Anthony Banks violins, Adrienne Spilsbury viola and Mary Dainton cello) return to the Witham with a wide-ranging programme featuring early and late quartets by Haydn (the elegant and poised Opus 9 no.4 and the mighty “Emperor” quartet, Opus 76 no.3), the first performance of Adrienne Spilsbury’s atmospheric second quartet “day, turning” and arrangements, by the veteran arranger Bill Thorp, of songs by Jerome Kern.
