Sergio Díaz De Rojas
Sergio Díaz De Rojas is a Peruvian pianist and composer based in Düsseldorf, Germany.
Raised in a family of artists, Sergio’s musical journey began under the guidance of his great-aunt Elsa, who introduced him to Bach and Chopin at the age of eleven. Though classically trained in his youth, Sergio’s artistic trajectory took a transformative turn during his university years. The discovery of musicians like Nils Frahm, Max Richter and Ólafur Arnalds sparked a revelation, inspiring him to venture into composition.
His horizons further expanded as he fell in love with genre-hopping musicians like Sufjan Stevens, whose album “Carrie & Lowell” profoundly affected him, and Keaton Henson, whose 2014 collaborative album “Romantic Works” inspired him to craft his debut record.
With over twenty million streams worldwide, several concerts around Europe and South America, and collaborations with record labels such as Deutsche Grammophon, 7K! and LEITER Verlag, Sergio’s second full-length album “Muerte en una tarde de verano” was released on the 10th of March 2023 via Nettwerk Music Group. The release was accompanied by a forty-minute-long film, two handcrafted vinyl editions, an exclusive CD edition for Japan, a collaboration with American singer-songwriter Lo-Fang, and a European release tour.
