Ticket price

When
Lee Schofield, Senior Site Manager for the RSPB at Haweswater in the Lake District, will talk about the work the RSPB are carrying out in partnership with United Utilities to restore a mosaic of upland habitats covering 30 square kilometres.
Find out how efforts to balance ecological restoration with hill farming are helping wildlife to thrive alongside sustainable livestock production.
Lee has recently written a book entitled Wild Fell, which provides an account of his experiences at Haweswater over the past decade. A major focus of the book, and of the restoration work that Lee is involved with, is to raise awareness of the importance of diverse plant life as the foundation for healthy, functioning ecosystems.
The talk is one of a series being hosted by Teesdale Special Flora Trust’s Plants on the Edge project during 2022-23.
