EverReady Band

EverReady Band has been part of the musical life of West Stanley, County Durham, for more than a century. Formed in 1910 in the heart of a proud mining community, the band grew from the rich brass band tradition that brought people together through both celebration and hardship.

Over the years, EverReady has built a proud contesting tradition. The band has won the Grand Shield on two occasions, claimed the North of England Regional Championship an impressive 36 times, and represented England at the World Music Contest in Kerkrade in 2005. EverReady has also been a regular presence at Brass in Concert, appearing at the prestigious event more than 30 times.

Today, the band continues to honour its heritage while sharing the warmth and excitement of brass music with new audiences. EverReady performs a wide-ranging repertoire, from traditional brass band classics to film music and themed concerts designed to bring fresh listeners to the sound of brass.

Based beside the memorial to the 168 victims of the 1909 West Stanley Pit Disaster, the band remains deeply connected to its community and history. Alongside its concert work, EverReady is committed to developing the next generation of brass musicians through community and youth initiatives across the South of Tyne area.

Rooted in heritage but always looking forward, EverReady Band continues to celebrate the power of brass music to bring people and communities together.
