Welcome into the world of Mary Fishburn, alias ‘Alex’.  

Accompany me on my dales journey via a wide variety of paintings.  

My paintings record vibrant, awe-inspiring skies, punctuated with cloud formations of gymnastic complexity and structure. Meteorologists would possibly recognize the altering, exposed, prevailing seasonal pressure conditions but not necessarily always the exact location or combination.  

All local dales topography represent their social history and specific weather conditions. These two factors swirl and merge within each other. Combined they create illusionary landscapes and vistas, which emerge within an evocative, ethereal, spiritual haze.   

Each season, each day, each time frame, marks differing atmospheres, differing emotions, differing colours and hues which influence and take life within my work. 

Every moor top tends to stimulate ‘magnanimous’ feelings. They create feelings and interpretations that are both opposite and opposing, yet, each vying to be featured within a painting.
