Join us to celebrate St Patrick’s day in style with the legendary Wattyboys!
The Wattyboys’ story began in 1994 when Dave 'Watty' Watson and his sons Ben 'Rhino' Watson & Tom 'The Grip' Watson were joined by friends Diarmaid, Bambi, Phil & 'Mad Dog' MacDonald for a one-off gig at Darlington Rugby Club, UK. That one-off gig led to hundreds of shows across north-east England, spreading south to London & Cornwall, and eventually across the water to Ireland. Over the next 25 years the line-up changed only slightly as Dave, Ben, Tom, Diarmaid & Bambi were joined by Andrew Yeadon, Owain Davies, Paul Hughes and Mel "Wattygirl" Cook.
The line up remained the same for almost 15 years until sadly, in late 2017, the original Wattyboy passed away. A fittingly rowdy tribute gig was held in his honour to coincide with the end of an epic 500km fundraising cycle ride by his four sons. That first poignant show without Dave’s physical presence marked the beginning of a new chapter in The Wattyboys story. His spirit lives on in our music and hearts and today The Wattyboys’ energy is stronger than ever, delivering a live show that has to be seen, heard and felt to be truly appreciated!
Wattyboys are made for rising…. and have no intention of sitting down!!
