The commissioning of this sculpture was part of The Witham's Heritage Activities Programme 2012-2014. The Witham's public art work was installed in the Link Building on 16 September 2013.
Pupils from Green Lane Primary School in Barnard Castle were given the opportunity to study nature and local landmarks in order to create clay-fired tiles inspired by Henry Witham. This project was part of the The Witham's Heritage Activities Programme 2012-2014.

Yesterday, I was lucky enough to be a fly on the wall at a meeting in Newcastle. It was between the Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) and the Witham Hall Redevelopment Project.
Hello blogspotters. Today I am asking you to get involved in our quest to understand the history of The Witham Hall. In my last post, I talked about how the Witham has successfully gained a ‘first round pass ‘in a bid to a Heritage Lottery Fund, which would help significantly contribute to the Witham Hall's redevelopment if a second (final) round pass is awarded.
I am a second year Architecture student at Newcastle University, I’m originally from Barney, doing my dissertation on the redevelopment of the Witham. Last Tuesday, I spent a very sunny afternoon working at the back of the Witham Hall.
